NATCHEZ — Forrest Foster is running for Ward 6 alderman.
Foster was born in Natchez at the old General Hospital on Aug. 18, 1952, to the parents of Jack D. and Bobbie Foster.
He has been married to his wife, Debbie, for 30 years, and they have three children: Ashley, Taylor and Alex, and one grandchild, Braxtyn Elveston.
Foster is a graduate of Natchez High School in 1970 and attended Co-Lin and the University of Southern Mississippi.
He has been employed in the automobile business for 36 years and for the past 17 years as owner of Foster Motor Co./Foster E-Z Pay Auto Inc.
“I feel my business experience in both good economic times as well as bad make me an excellent choice for your alderman of Ward 6, as well as a very qualified representative of the City of Natchez,” Foster said.
“As alderman, I will work hard for you to make improvements to our city in many areas. Just a few of those include, making well thought out decisions as to how and where your tax dollars are spent; focusing on improving our city’s appearance by ensuring that our properties are properly cared for as well as improving the condition of our city streets and working with and supporting Natchez Inc. in securing quality jobs for our residents.”
Foster said if elected he would work closely with Natchez law enforcement to ensure they have the resources needed to reduce crime and would push hard to set a construction date for a new recreation complex.
“Natchez needs business people with a good understanding of the cost and effect of spending your tax dollars,” Foster said.
