NATCHEZ — Services for Jason Paul “Jay” Mulhearn, 42, of Monroe, La., who died Sunday, April 29, 2012, in Monroe, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Walton Jones officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Jay was born Nov. 9, 1969, in West Monroe, La., the son of Ronnie Williams and Ruth Mulhearn Williams. He graduated from of Trinity Episcopal Day School as valedictorian and graduated magna cum laude from Northeast Louisiana University with degrees in pre-medicine and medical technology.

Jay was a talented musician and writer with a gift for facing challenges with honor, bravery, grace and an unforgettable sense of humor. Throughout his challenges and life (and sometimes wry lectures), he bestowed wisdom upon those who met him with his honest nature and recognition of daily blessings.

Jay was preceded in death by his grandparents, John E. and Evelyn Mulhearn and Robert Groseclose.

Survivors include his parents of Vidalia; grandmother, Jeannine Groseclose of Monroe; one brother, Brian Mulhearn and wife, Ann, of Memphis, Tenn.; one sister, Shea Stillwell and husband, Keith, of Benton, Ark.; two nieces, Elizabeth Mulhearn and Stratton Stillwell; and two nephews, Patrick Mulhearn and Adam Stillwell.

He was a kind, loving son, brother, uncle and friend.

Pallbearers will be Brian Mulhearn, Kevin Williams, Greg Williams, Keith Stillwell, Patrick A. Mulhearn, Patrick Mulhearn and Bobby Harmon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Harmony House in Monroe where Jay led lectures and services while finding support and friendship. The family feels forever indebted to the opportunities, support and friendship they provided for Jay. He spoke the truth, told the truth, thought the truth and lived the truth.
