Relay knows how to put up the fight

Tiny things can make a huge impact in the world.
At least several dozen great examples of that will be seen tonight on the Vidalia Riverfront.
A tiny thing, microscopic in the beginning will bring together hundreds and hundreds of local residents for a fight.
Most of the people will come ready, willing and able to open their wallets for something greater than their own pleasure — helping others.
Our community’s Relay for Life event gets going tonight and perhaps no greater example of the core goodness of our area’s people exists.
Tiny cancer cells — some which eventually grow quite large — dramatically affect our lives when they appear.
Hearing the big “C” word will grab a person and shake their soul. It’s dramatic, and it’s scary, but as tonight’s survivor’s lap will attest, it’s not a life sentence.
Through a myriad of fundraisers the Relay participants will raise a small fortune of money to donate to cancer research.
Our Relay for Life is considered by many to be one of the best, high-producing per capita Relay events in existence.
That’s due to a small army of amazing, caring people who put dozens and dozens of hours into planning and organizing.
We thank each one of them for all that they do, and we hope this year’s Relay is a knockout in the battle against cancer.
