VIDALIA — Services for Bertha Mae Kennedy Boggess, 72, of Aurora, Colo., formerly of Vidalia, who died Friday, April 27, 2012, at Aurora Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Young’s Chapel Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Windell Greene Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Boggess was born May 9, 1940, in Vidalia, the daughter of David and Katie Drumgold Kennedy. She was retired from the Colorado Public Service Utility Company.

Mrs. Boggess was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings, Yvonne Marie, Urist Lee, Arlene Louise, David Jr., and Loretta; and one grandson, Joshua Marshall.

Survivors include her husband, Jesse Boggess; three daughters, Antionette Davis and husband, Melvin, Mauvis Marshall and Lydia Marshall; two stepdaughters, Kimberly Carter and Stephanie Boggess; one stepson, Jesse Boggess; one brother-in-law; six sisters-in-law; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
