NATCHEZ — Services for Lucius DeShat’e Washington, 33, of Fort Wayne, Ind., who died Friday, May 18, 2012, in Fort Wayne, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Grove African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. James Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from noon until service time Sunday at the church.
Mr. Washington was preceded in death by his father, Lucius C. Grant; his grandmother, Berlin Washington Payne; step-grandfather, Melvin Jones; great-grandparents, Elizabeth Byes, Charlie and Queen Washington; and one aunt, Belinda Washington.
Survivors include his loving mother, Brenda “Big B” Washington; one brother, Derrick “Bones” Washington and wife, Rachel, of Natchez; grandparents, Thomas Valentine and wife, Carol, of San Jose, Calif., and Mildred Terrell of Natchez; four godsisters, Brandy Walker of West Wego, La., Tameka Hampton of New Orleans, Ty’Kerrionna Terrell and Clarnesia Williams, both of Natchez; two godbrothers, James McGraw Jr. and Tevion Davis, both of Natchez; four stepchildren, Cameron D. Arnos, Padric Armstead, LaDasia Green and Rodarriuss Hollins, all of Fort Wayne; 11 aunts, Erline Bernard and Lisa Bernard, both of Marrero, La., Elizabeth Valentine of Hanhan, New Mexico, Deedra Madison and husband, Greg, Crecedia, Pearlina, Brenda Terrell, LaDonna Williams and husband, Clarence, and Joyce Williams and husband, John, all of Natchez, Dixie Terrell and Leslie Peyton and husband, Alton, all of Baton Rouge; eight uncles, Larry Bernard of Marrero, Kelvin Bernard of New Orleans, Marcus Valentine and wife, Helen, of California, William, D. Isaac, Carl and Eric Terrell and his wife, LaTonya, all of Natchez, and Troy Terrell and his wife, Barbara, of Roxie; one great-aunt, Hope Washington of Natchez; two great-uncles, Charlie and Edward Washington and his wife, Shirley, all of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
