PORT GIBSON — Services for Harriet Robinson Polk, 89, of Port Gibson, who died Monday, May 21, 2012, at River Region Hospital in Vicksburg, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 28, 2012, at Holly Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Earnest Ford Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mrs. Polk was born Nov. 19, 1922, in Claiborne County, the daughter of Robert and Dora Selmon Robinson.

Mrs. Polk was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, motherboard at Holly Grove Missionary Baptist Church, a community volunteer and a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Claudine Davis and Sephornia Thomas.

Survivors include seven loving and devoted children, Shirley Polk, Deloris Mack, Dora Dee, Regina Harris, Claudia Brooks, Edward Polk and wife, Cinderella, and Volatta Williams and husband, Richard; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
