HARRISONBURG, La. — Bonnie Jean Jeffers, 68, of Mendenhall, formerly of Harrisonburg, passed peacefully away from this life surrounded by her family, Monday, June 4, 2012, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Harrisonburg Cemetery with the Rev. Charles “Sonny” Nugent officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jeffers was born Sept. 24, 1943, the daughter of Arnie L. and Lucy Mae Rush. She was the co-founder and active member of Save Our Strays, an animal rescue organization in Simpson County, and she was a volunteer worker at Simpson General Hospital.
Mrs. Jeffers was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil M. Jeffers and her parents.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharamie Posada; one son, DeWayne Beauchamp; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family members.
