FERRIDAY — Services for Isaac “Ike” Spurs, 73, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Our Lady of the Lakes Hospital in Baton Rouge, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church with the Rev. T.A. Baker Jr. officiating.

Burial will be in the Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Spurs was born Sept. 21, 1938, in St. Joseph, the son of Willie and Leah Hunter Spurs.

Survivors include his wife, Willie Mae Spurs of Ferriday; four sons, Isaac Spurs of Monroe, Kotey Spurs and Laterrus Spurs of Ferriday and Kenneth Washington of California; two daughters, Lynette S. Hampton of Lithonia, Ga. and Brenda Walker of Natchez; three brothers, George Spurs and Albert Spurs of Ferriday and Terry Spurs of Missouri City, Texas; two sisters, Ruby S. Lollis and Lady Kate Spurs of Ferriday; 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, one aunt and one uncle.
