JONESVILLE — Services for Bobby Ray Ewing, 79, of Sandy Lake, La., who died Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at Sandy Lake Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Joel Ford, the Rev. Jimmy Masters and the Rev. Frank Bass officiating.

Burial will follow at Heard Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.

Mr. Ewing was born Aug. 16, 1932, in Jonesville, the son of Asa and Ida Ewing.

Mr. Ewing worked as a welder and was a member of Sandy Lake Pentecostal Church.

He served as director on the Concordia Electric Board for 25 years, the LREA Board, Sandy Lake Water Board and the Cajun Electric Board.

Mr. Ewing’s love was playing and singing music and was well known for the Ewing Family gospel singing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Frances Boothe Ewing; one son, Gary L. Ewing; five sisters, Mildred Masters, Marie Carrico, Betty Jean Hale, Ethel Patten and Georgia “Tee Wee” Wascom; and two brothers, A.C. Ewing Jr. and the Rev. Tom Ed Ewing.

Survivors include his wife, Flonnie Brown Ewing; two sons, Derwin Ewing and wife, Delane Alger, of Pineville, La., and Michael Ewing and wife, Kay, of Hattiesburg; one stepdaughter, Misti Michot and husband, Bryan, of Jonesville; two sisters, Goldie Buie of Jonesville and Yvonne Masters of Monroe, La.; two grandsons, Deron Ewing and Brenson Ewing; one step-grandson, Hayden Michot; five granddaughters, Dr. Dana Mays, Summer Tullier, Mandy Smith, Meredith Maloney and Melody Ewing; two step-granddaughters, Megan Walton and Caitlin Walton; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Concordia Electric board members.
