NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Jake “Jakie” Leon Nichols Jr., 57, of Natchez, who died Friday, June 22, 2012, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Nichols was born Nov. 20, 1954, the son of Jake “Red” Leon Nichols Sr., and Ruby Marie Knight Nichols. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Martha Jane Nichols Cupit.

Survivors include one son, Walter Nichols of Natchez; two sisters, Lois Griffin of Biloxi and Judy Nichols of Natchez; two brothers, Jeff Nichols of Baton Rouge and Jody Nichols of Vidalia; two grandsons, Charles and Eric Nichols of Natchez, and one granddaughter, Breanna Ballard of Monterey.
