SICILY ISLAND — Graveside services for Sally Freeman Furr, 96, of Wisner and formerly of Vidalia, who died Friday, June 22, 2012, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Old Pine Hill Cemetery near Sicily Island with the Rev. Kenneth Swearingen officiating.
Burial will follow at the cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Furr was born Sept. 18, 1915, in Franklin County, the daughter of Gabriel Freeman and Emily Campbell Freeman. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Evangelical Methodist Church in Natchez and the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Clyde Furr.
She is survived by a step-daughter, Jane Olson of Nashville; two nieces, Laverne Harris of Bossier City, La., and Mary Virginia Smith of Wisner, and numerous other nephews, nieces and friends.
Pallbearers will be John Bird, Evan Bird, Curtis Nelson, Hardy Hopkins, Stan Wallace and Jeffrey Hopkins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Bird, Buck Smith, Ernie Smith, Joe Wallace and Kenneth Partridge.
