LARTO, La. — Services for John Truette Deville, 18, of Larto, La., who died Sunday, June 24, 2012, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Larto Baptist Church with the Rev. Mack Walker and the Rev. Lloyd Trisler officiating.
Burial will follow at Nichols Cemetery in Larto under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today at the church.
John was born Oct. 5, 1993, the son of Johnny Stewart Deville and Michelle Bruce Melan. He was a construction worker in Baton Rouge.
John was a member of Larto Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors and wrestling with his cousins.
He was preceded in death by one aunt, Sandy Foreman and paternal grandparents, Preston and Alta Deville.
Survivors include his father of Larto; his mother and her husband, Bruce Melan, of Folsom, La.; maternal grandparents, Allen Fontenot and Juanita of Lake Charles, La.; maternal grandparents, Juan and Sandra McClure of Larto; three uncles, Matt McClure of Alexandria, Allen Fontenot Jr. of Lake Charles and Jerry Wiley and wife, Clara, of Jonesville; and three aunts, Sue Melton and husband, Richard, of Larto, Jennifer Rhoten and husband, Spencer, of West Monroe, La., and Sherry Zimmerman and husband, Tony, of Lake Charles.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Williamson, Jared Burley, Kenny Smith, Johnny Adams, Jared McQuillin and Jason Wiley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Justin McQuillin, Zack Owens, Cole Rhoten, Seth Rhoten, Kolby McClure, Coby Williamson, Frank Wiley, Richard Tiser, Nate Davis, Johnathan Wiley and Lamar LaPrarie.
