FERRIDAY — Services for Earl K. Keith, 71, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Larry Wagoner and the Rev. Chad Franklin officiating.
Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Mr. Keith was born June 23, 1941, in Red Gum, La., the son of Albert and Eunice Keith. He was a retired oil field worker, where he began working at the age of 15. He was a legend in the oil field industry.
Mr. Keith was an active member of Westside Baptist Church. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Mr. Keith was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, John Michael Plugge; two granddaughters, Krissi Dodd Butler and Martha Elizabeth Plugge; two brothers, Robert Keith and Floyd Keith; and three sisters, Betty Jo Keith, Linda Adams and Geraldine Shipley.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Martha Keith; his daughters, Sandy and Sonny Causey of Meadville and their children, Michael Plugge, Suzanne Wallace and Sierra Causey, all of Meadville, Sharon and Stephen Hoover of Ferriday and their children, Curtiss Keating and wife, Katie of Houston, Texas, Jo-lee Brixey and husband, Justin, of Jena, La., and Sara Hoover of Ferriday, Deede and Guy Doré of Lafayette, La., and their children, Kameron and Brittany Cupit, both of Lafayette, Duston Doré and Deirdra of Hammond, La., Collin Doré of Natchez, Eddie and Angie Dye of Ferriday, and their children, Cody and Eddie Dye, both of Ferriday, Robert and Patricia Dye of Hinton, Okla., and their children Robby and Hali Dye of Taylor, Ark., Jared and Taylor Brooks, Tonya and Kyle Watson, Tasha and Matthew Brooks and Dakota Dye, all of Hinton, Pam and Donnie Dodge of Woodward, Okla., and their children, Amy, Paul Wayne and Kenneth Wilson, all of Ferriday, Earl and Donna Keith of Clayton and their children, Trey and Mandy Keith and Kayla Keith, all of Clayton, Darlene and Eddie Humphries of Ferriday and their children Eddie and Billy Humphries of Ferriday; five brothers, Jeff Keith and wife, Barbara, of Jonesville, William Keith and wife, Donna, and Jimmy Roy Keith, all of Magnolia, Albert “June Bug” Keith of Ferriday and James Keith and wife, Pam, Billings, Mont.; two sisters, Billie Hagan of Monroe, La., and Odeal Edwards of Spokane, Wash.; three sisters-in-law, Elaine Keith of Ferriday, Jessie Barajas of Pasadena, Calif., and Cookie Pruitt of Indianapolis, Ind.; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Cody Dye, Michael Plugge, Eddie Dye II, Justin Brixey, Glen McGlothin, David Marchbanks, Tony Evans, Johnny Money, Ronnie Rinewalt and Donnie Whatley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Curtiss Keating, Robby Dye, Kameron Cupit, Dakota Dye, Jared Brooks, Matthew Brooks, Kyle Watson, Jeffery Keith, Larry Keith, Marvin Evans, Tommy Couch, Mack Smith, Bo White, Keith Marsh, Jesse Horton, Robert Dodd and Bill Smart.
