WOODVILLE — Services for Mildred Elizabeth Smith Ross, 78, of Woodville, who died Monday, June 25, 2012, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Magnolia Baptist Church in Woodville with the Rev. Harold Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at Cedar Rest Cemetery No. 2 in Woodville under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home in Woodville.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ross was born Feb. 3, 1934, in Wilkinson County, the daughter of Morris Louis Smith Jr. and Mary Ann Cage. She was a homemaker and a member of Magnolia Baptist Church and served on the deaconess board.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Joyce Marie Ross Trufant; six brothers, David, Vincent, Gene, Woodrow, James and Ernest; and one sister, Annie Elizabeth Smith Ferguson.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, Elmo Ross Sr.; four daughters, Rosetta Scott and husband, Johnnie of Dallas, Louise Brown of Woodville, Linda Jarvis and husband, Burnell, of Forney, Texas and Patricia Booker and husband, Sam Sr., of Marion, Ark.; one son, Elmo Ross Jr. and wife, Wanda; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five brothers, the Rev. Harold Smith Sr. and wife, Ida, of Ethel, La., Carroll Smith and wife, Rose, Tommy Smith and wife, Patsy, Charles Smith and wife, Sakina, all of Woodville; two sisters, Mary Lee Scott and husband, Leon, of Baton Rouge and Jannie Williams and husband, Romel Jr., of Woodville; one aunt, Carrie Smith Cage of Woodville; and a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
