Lula Hardie Dunn

JONESVILLE — Services for Lula Hardie Dunn, 95, of Jonesville, who died Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Trinity Nursing Home in Palmetto, La., will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First Pentecostal Church in Jonesville.

Burial will follow in Heard Cemetery in Manifest under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mrs. Dunn was born Sept. 28, 1916, in Jonesville, the daughter of Steve Hardie and Lily Ford Hardie Harris.

Mrs. Dunn spent her entire adult life as a faithful and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, pastor’s wife, sister, aunt and friend to everyone she met. The last years of her life she spent sharing laughs and love with the residents and staff of the nursing home.

Mrs. Dunn was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Ed Harris; husband, the Rev. W.H. “Henry” Dunn; four brothers, Claude, Norman, Tommy and Billy Hardie, and one sister, Ida Hardie Masters.

Left to carry on her legacy of putting God first and loving all God’s people are her only child, the Rev. Marvin Dunn, and his wife, Sharron, of Palmetto; grandson, the Rev. Timothy Joel Dunn of Farrington, N.M., and his children, Cassandra, Joel and Jesse; granddaughter, Markay Dunn Reeves and her husband, Byron, and their daughter, Tiger, of Pineville; brother, Bobby Harris, of Jonesville; two sisters, Eula Mae Elliot of Jena and Stevie “Sis” Butts of Jonesville.
