FERRIDAY — Services for Leroy Williams, 85, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, June 28, 2012, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Timothy Williams officiating.
Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Williams was born March 11, 1927, in Natchez, the son of Archie and Sue Willis Hamilton Williams. He was a farmer and a school bus driver for 32 years for the Concordia Parish School District.
Mr. Williams also served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Wesley Williams; his parents; three children, Archie, Sue Willie and Leroy Jr.; and two brothers, Otley “Dewitt” Williams and the Rev. Odell Williams.
Survivors include six children, Linda W. Haynes and husband, Ike, of Baton Rouge, Earl L. Williams and wife, Georgia, of Pineville, La., Jennifer W. Hauer, Debra W. Davis and husband, Sammy III, Sherry W. Morrison, Terrance L. Williams and wife, Keniesha, all of Ferriday; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dr. Eugene E. Williams Sr. and wife, Daisy, and Archie “AJ” Williams; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
