VIDALIA — Services for Michael Shain Cupit, 32, of Vidalia, who died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Oschner’s Medical Center in New Orleans, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Bill McCullin officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Cupit was born Nov. 18, 1979, in Ferriday, the son of Glenn and Sarah Cupit. He was employed by Haliburton Energy Services as a service supervisor III, on the Deep Water Nautilus. He was also a member of First Baptist Church in Vidalia.

Michael was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Shelby L. Arthur and four uncles, Marion “Bo” Arthur, Harry Arthur, Billy Guillot and Shelby Arthur.

Survivors include two children, Michael Alden Cupit of Vidalia and Madalyn Paige Cupit of Lafayette, La.; his parents of Vidalia; one brother, Brad Cupit and wife, Addie, of Hayden, Ala.; three nephews, Tyler, Colin and Stone Cupit; paternal grandparents, Roy Gene and Esteen Cupit of Vidalia; and maternal grandmother, Georgia Arthur of Clayton.

Pallbearers will be Billy Seymour, Brandon Walsworth, Bryan Robinson, Glen Donald, Jonathan McCain, Josh Wilson, Nick Breaux and Wayne Harveston.
