NATCHEZ — A Natchez woman is in stable condition after a driver crashed into her apartment on Ram Circle just after 1 p.m. Sunday.

Natchez Police Department Sgt. Shawn T. King said police believe the driver, Jahcari Murray, had a seizure and blacked out just before crashing into the apartment of Margie Frye.

King said Frye was pinned between a wall and the car and was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson with a severe leg injury.

Frye’s fiancé, George Reed, said Sunday evening that Frye was having surgery on her right leg, which he said was nearly cut off in the accident.

Reed said Frye lost a lot of blood in the accident and doctors were giving her blood transfusions to keep her blood pressure stable.

Reed said he was unsure when doctors would release Frye from the hospital.

King said Murray was taken to a local hospital for blood work and other tests because of the seizure, but King said Murray was not injured in the accident.
