NATCHEZ — Graveside services for the Rev. George Murray, 82, of Vidalia, who died Monday, July 9, 2012, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, were 2 p.m. Tuesday at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Murray and the Rev. Ronald Hall officiating.

Burial followed under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia.

Rev. Murray was born Dec. 1, 1929, in Franklin County, the son of Tillman and Delia Murray. He was the youngest of eight children.

The Rev. Murray was reared in Franklin Parish, La., but had lived in the Vidalia area for 50 years and was employed by International Paper Company. He was also owner and operator of City Service Station. His true calling in life was serving the Lord and his fellowman.

The Rev. Murray was the pastor of Apostolic Life Church in Vidalia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Vera Lucille Murray; six brothers, Oliver Winston Murray, Preston Proby Murray, Johnny Clifton Murray, James Vernon Murray, Exodus Murray and M.C. Murray.

Survivors include one sister, Marie Ezell of Vidalia and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be nephews and friends.
