VIDALIA — The burn ban in Concordia Parish was lifted Saturday evening.

Concordia Parish Police Jury President Melvin Ferrington said he lifted the ban at approximately 5 p.m. after consulting with local fire officials.

“We agreed that we have gotten sufficient rain across the parish to lift the ban,” Ferrington said.

Residents should still exercise discretion when they choose to burn things, Ferrington said.

Adams County’s burn ban remains in effect.
