NATCHEZ — Services for Michael Rex Payton, 62, of Natchez, who died Monday, July 30, 2012, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gordon Finley officiating.

Burial will follow at Lone Pine Cemetery in Eva, La., under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Payton was born July 20, 1950, in Natchez, the son of Roy R. Payton and Maxine Morace Payton.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include his father of Natchez; one aunt, Maude Ferguson of Vidalia; one uncle, Doyle Morace of Vidalia; and a number of cousins.

Pallbearers will be Dan Merrill, Joey Merrill, Jeffery Ferguson, Michael Ferguson, Joey Greer and Avery Parker.
