MEADVILLE — Services for Hazel Lee McDaniel, 79, of Meadville, who died Friday, July 27, 2012, at Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Meadville with the Rev. Anthony Wilcher officiating.
Burial will follow at New Fork Cemetery in Meadville under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Ms. McDaniel was born March 26, 1933, in Meadville, the daughter of Endia Caston. She was a member of C.I.G. Club (Community Improvement.)
Ms. McDaniel was preceded in death by her mother; and four brothers, Daniel Lee Odell, J.P. Odell, Billy Lewis and M.C. Odell.
Survivors include two loving daughters, Edween Perkins and husband, Robert, of Meadville and Deloris Beverly and husband, Strawder, of Normal, Ill.; one devoted son, Charles Smith of Meadville; eight grandchildren, Jacqueline L. Perkins of Meadville, Lizzie Griffin, Hazel Griffin, Charles Smith Jr., all of Bunkley, Lionel and Brian Middleton, both of Bude, Sherreka Beverly of Normal and Brian Beverly and wife, Kisha, of San Francisco; one brother, Luther Ray Odell of Chicago; two special neighbors, Joe and Donna Jones; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
