Alcorn appoints interim department chair

LORMAN — Dr. Carrie Ford-Campbell, assistant professor in the Department of Human Sciences at Alcorn, was recently appointed interim department chair of the Department of Human Sciences in the School of Agriculture, Research, Extension and Applied Sciences, according to Dr. Barry Bequette, dean and director of land-grant programs.
Ford-Campbell, an advocate for children and families, previously served as a family and consumer sciences specialist in the department.
She received a bachelor’s degree in education with a minor in child development from Tougaloo College, a master’s degree in education with a minor in early childhood education and child development and a doctorate degree in education with an emphasis in guidance and counseling both from Jackson State University.
“I accept my new appointment with honor and pleasure,” she said. “I am thankful to the Department and Dr. Bequette for giving me the opportunity to serve as chair.”
