BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Services for Eddie Lee Sanders, 68, of Birmingham, Ala., who died Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, will be at 1 p.m. today at New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church Dolomite with the Rev. Joseph Edwards officiating.
Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at Alabama National Cemetery Montevallo under the direction of Westside Funeral Home in Fairfield, Ala.
Mr. Sanders was a native of Hale County. He was a member of New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church Dolomite and served as chairman of the Deacon Board.
Mr. Sanders was a U.S. Army veteran, civic leader of Roosevelt City and a former salesman at Jim Skinner Ford. He was a 1962 graduate of Westfield High School and a graduate of Lawson State Community College.
Survivors include a devoted wife, Katie Sanders; three children, Eddie Lee Sanders Jr., Alesia Dickerson and husband, Ltc. Barry, and Cyrenhia Linton and husband, Readus; seven brothers and sisters, Wilma Dunbar and husband, Trevor, Bishop Robert Cade and wife, Betty, Martha “Midge” Johnson, Cornelius Cade Jr., Edna Chappell and husband, Melvin, Vickie Nalls and Sandra Rice; and three brothers and sister-in-law, Lonny Fanning, Albert Hall and Shirley Delaney.
