FAYETTE — Services for Lee Arthur Davis, 98, of Fayette, who died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Percy Turner officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home in Fayette.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. Davis was born Jan. 4, 1914, in Fayette, the son of Cluster “Dock” Davis and Josie Duck Davis.
He was educated in the Jefferson County Public Schools, was a farmer, contractor and laborer in Fayette and was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include six children, Ella Mae Doss of Harriston, Charles Davis of Vicksburg, Helen Hudson of Fayette, Geraldine Harris and husband, Freddie, of Natchez, James Davis and wife, Linda, and Diane Hall and husband, Blake, all of Fayette; one sister-in-law, Mamie Lee Mazique of Natchez; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and a number of other family, relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Corey Harris, Frederick Harris, Christopher Harris, Michael Harris, Daniel Hall, Kenny Carter, and Arnold Clark Jr.
