FERRIDAY — Services for Clyde Joseph Savoy, 78, of Vidalia, who died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Pineville, La., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Louis Sklar officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home with a rosary at 7:30 p.m.

Mr. Savoy was born March 2, 1934, in Whiskey Bay, La., the son of Gilbert Savoy Sr. and Mamie Savoy. He was a maintenance manger at International Paper Company.

Mr. Savoy was Catholic. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Hoggatt Savoy; his parents; one daughter, Kelly Christine Savoy; and one brother, Gilbert Savoy Jr.

Survivors include one daughter, Susan Brown and husband, Steve, of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother, Curtis Savoy of Ferriday; two sisters, Kathleen Whitehead of Vidalia and Etta Lee Bryan and husband, Jack, of Baker, La.; and three grandsons, Trey Brown of Pineville, Hayden Brown and fiancée, Ali Hohman, and Aaron Brown, all of Cincinnati.

Pallbearers will be Trey Brown, Hayden Brown, Aaron Brown, Jimmy Savoy, Curtis Savoy Jr. and George Webster Whitehead IV.
