FERRIDAY — Services for Marilyn Durbin Rife, 83, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Louis Sklar officiating.

Burial will follow at Legion Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rife was born Aug. 27, 1928, in Waterproof, the daughter of Lanius Durbin and Florence Ann Durbin. She was a bookkeeper and a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Mrs. Rife was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Lee Rife Sr.; her parents; three sisters, Kate Craig, Lola LeBlanc and Barbara Brock; one grandson, Edwin “Wynn” Lee Rife III; and one granddaughter, Katherine “Cori” Corinne Rife.

Survivors include one son, Lee Rife Jr. and wife, Stephanie, of Ferriday; two brothers, James “Butch” Durbin and wife, Kay, of San Diego, Calif., and Charles “Larry” Durbin and wife, Pat, of Brusly, La.; four sisters, Florence “Flo” Sedita and Terry Guidry and husband, Steve, all of Brusly, Cora Theriot of Port Allen, La., and Lily Merle “Pee Wee” Peace of Friendswood, Texas; two granddaughters, Stacey Rife Didyoung and husband, Chris, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Katie June and husband, Scott, of Woodville; one great-grandson, Trent Didyoung; two great-granddaughters, Alexis and Jade June; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be nephews, Jimmy Craig, Charlie Peace, Harry Theriot, Paul LeBlanc, JC Durbin, Kevin Durbin, Christopher Brock, Todd Guidry, John Rife, Olander Peace, Tommy LeBlanc, Kerry Guidry, Jeff Guidry and Stan Rife.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church or to a charity of choice.
