FERRIDAY — Services for Eugene Lacey, 92, of Vidalia, who died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at Heritage Manor Health and Rehab Center in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas Baptist Church, Levee Heights community in Ferriday, with the Rev. Robert Strickland officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Lacey was born July 30, 1920, in Natchitoches, La., the son of Julius and Mary Toussaint Lacey. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army from Oct. 29, 1942 to Dec. 8, 1945.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rosie Lee Taylor Lacey; five brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include one son, Sidney E. Lacey; one granddaughter, Cristena; two great-grandsons, Tristan and Able; two sisters, Easter Bloodworth and Florence Larks, all of Houston, Texas; long-time friend, companion and caregiver, Alice Nolden of Vidalia; two special friends, Terry Calvin of Natchez and Leonard “Lou Lou” Turner of Vidalia; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
