NATCHEZ — Services for Harry Roth, 88, of Vidalia, who died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Promise Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. today, at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Cullum officiating.
Burial will follow at Harris Rawls Cemetery near Brookhaven with military rites under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mr. Roth was born Jan. 10, 1924, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., the son of Lee Roth and Hilda Snyder Roth.
Mr. Roth was a 30-year veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. His bravery earned him a Purple Heart. He maintained the rank of first sergeant until his retirement in 1972.
Mr. Roth was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Bernice Roth.
Survivors include his sons, Richard Roth of Vidalia and Dustin Cross of Gauthier; daughter, Tammy Crosby of Vidalia; grandchildren, Crystal Hanley and husband, Chris, Bethany Stricklin and husband, Michael, Richard Roth II and Kristy Andrews, all of Vidalia, Geoffery Crosby and Kristen Crosby, both of Natchez, and Brittany Crosby of Bogue Chitto; great-grandchildren, Michael Aaron Stricklin, Sidnee Roth, Avery Stricklin, Kaylee Roth and Payton Roth.
Pallbearers will be members of the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
