NATCHEZ — Services for Hattie Elizabeth Herring Rutherford, 87, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Denny Read and the Rev. Noelle Reed officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a. m. until service time Wednesday at the church.

Mrs. Rutherford was born July 4, 1925, in Winona, the daughter of Victor Herring and Addie Mae Birsco Herring. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Daughters of the American Revolution and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. Rutherford was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Rodger Rutherford Jr.; and one brother, Baily Herring.

Survivors include one son, George Rodger Rutherford III of Natchez; one sister, Virgie Jackson of Vidalia; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Rutherford Willis of San Antonio, Texas, George R. Rutherford IV, Adam Kirk and Amber Rutherford, all of Natchez; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Willis, Chris Willis, Adam Kirk, Jack Smith, Edward Meinzinger and Roger Meinzinger.

Honorary pallbearer will be Alan Burchfield.
