GLOSTER — Services for Lyndell Sorrels Cassels, 78, a lifelong resident of Amite County, who died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at her residence, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dennis Johnsey and the Rev. Wayne Spencer officiating.
Burial will follow at Talbert Cemetery near Gloster under the direction of Brown Funeral Home in Gloster.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 2 p.m. until service time Wednesday, both at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cassels was born Feb. 12, 1934, in the Homochitto community in Amite County, the daughter of Iddo Lyle Sorrels and Ernestine Evelyn Poole Sorrels. She was an educator for more than 30 years.
Mrs. Cassels was a member of Gloster United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Cassels and one sister, Donna Johnson.
Survivors include two daughters, Mattelyn Cassels Chatham and husband, Rick, of Hattiesburg and Letitia Cassels Haygood and husband, Todd, of Liberty; seven grandchildren, Chris Chatham, Sarah Chatham, Laura Chatham, Rebecca Chatham, Joycelyn Haygood, Haley Haygood and Leslie Haygood; and two sisters, Alfrieda Clark and Edwina Hyer, both of Gloster.
