NATCHEZ — It’s official: Team St. Andrews, captained by Bobby Meason, was announced on Tuesday as the winner of the 2012 Beau Pré Cup that took place over part of last weekend.

Team St. Andrews finished with 10 1/2 total points after defeating Team Carnoustie, captained by David Cothren, 5 1/2 points to 1 1/2 points in Saturday morning’s four ball matches and 5 points to 2 points in Saturday afternoon’s alternate shot matches.

While those matches were played in a steady rain, Sunday’s singles matches, ended up being cancelled. They were originally scheduled to take place that morning but were moved to the afternoon due to the threat of more inclement weather Saturday night and Sunday morning.
