FERRIDAY — Services for Jim Brixey, 40, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at Huey P. Long Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with the Rev. Cecil Grantham, the Rev. Ronnie Wesberry and John Casey Brixey officiating.

Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Brixey was born April 17, 1972, in Natchez, the son of William and Marilyn Brixey. He was a graduate of Ferriday High School. He attended Shelby M. Jackson Vocational Institute where he studied general mechanics, welding, instrumentation, small engines, air conditioning and refrigeration.

Jim loved to draw and listen to music. He was never married but spent his time with his nieces and nephews. He was dearly loved and truly will be missed.

Jim was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, E.M. and Dixie Brixey and maternal grandparents, Segrest and Bessie Wesberry.

Survivors include his parents of Ferriday; two brothers, Justin Brixey and wife, Jo-Lee, of Jena, La., and John Casey Brixey of Ferriday; two sisters, Jennifer Freeman and husband, Gregg, of Vidalia and Janna Burns of Ferriday; three nieces, Jania Burns, Sydney Burns and Sarah Freeman; and five nephews, Dylan Knapp, Conner Freeman, Hayden Brixey, Wil Brixey and Tristan Burns.

Pallbearers will be Randy Brixey, Billy Brixey, Dylan Knapp, Gregg Freeman, Conner Freeman, Chad Barfoot, Beau Barfoot and James Brixey.
