FERRIDAY — Services for Diane Cross Brakenridge, 77 of Ferriday, who died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, will at 3 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Varnado officiating.

Burial will follow in the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brakenridge was born on Nov. 18, 1934, in Ferriday, the daughter of Noah Webster Cross and Iola Denham Cross.

She was a lifelong resident of Ferriday and a member of Sevier Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was organist for most of her life.

Mrs. Brakenridge was an accomplished musician, scholar, teacher and business owner. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.

Mrs. Brakenridge was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Charles E. Brakenridge, Sr.; daughter, Anna Brakenridge Ferguson; son, Charles E. Brakenridge, Jr. and wife, Georgeanne, all of Ferriday; grandsons, Charles E. Brakenridge III and Samuel Curtis Ferguson, Jr.; granddaughter, Elizabeth Lansing Brakenridge and sisters, Lydia Wilson of Ferriday and Kay Faulkner of Lockport.

Pallbearers will be Charles E. Brakenridge III, Mike Rabb, Morris Rabb, Neil Faulkner Jr., Noah Wilson and Wayne Wilson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Elizabeth Lansing Brakenridge and Samuel Ferguson Jr.
