NATCHEZ — A Mass of Christian burial for Helen Kimble Petermann, 93, who died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, surrounded by her loving family, will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mrs. Petermann was born May 31, 1919, in New Orleans, the daughter of Julius Berlin Kimble and Regina Mary Federer Kimble. She was a long standing member of St. Mary Basilica and the Ladies Altar Society.
Mrs. Petermann was preceded in death by her loving husband, John H. Petermann; six brothers, Julius Berlin Kimble Jr., Leon Kimble, Frank Kimble, John Paul Kimble, Joseph Kimble and Herbert Kimble; three sisters, Leona Lahaie, Claire Amato and Rose Mancuso; and one granddaughter, Kelly McKinney.
Survivors include one son, John Petermann and wife, Cheryl; two daughters, Cathie McCall and husband, Buzz, and Carol Jones; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one brother, Raymond Kimble; one sister, Regina Martiny; and a number of beloved nieces and nephews.
Her extended family was everyone she knew, especially those who were friends of her children and grandchildren and many who referred to her as Grandmother Helen. She leaves a legacy beyond measure of life, family and faith.
Pallbearers will be Robert L. Petermann, John P. Petermann Jr., Duncan McCall, Michael McCall, Kevin McCall and William Louis Jones Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Devening, Kevin Colbert and Buzz McCall.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary Basilica Family Life Center, Cathedral School or to a charity of choice.
