Jonesville — Services for Sim Nichols of Jonesville will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 22, at First Pentecostal Church in Jonesville with the Rev. Jack Knapp and Bro. Bruce Lofton officiating.
Burial will follow at Evangeline Baptist Cemetery in Wildsville under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at First Pentecostal Church.
Brother Sim was a dedicated member of First Pentecostal Church, Jonesville for the past 31 years. He was a loyal employee of the Town of Jonesville for 56 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hattie and Jake Nichols; the love of his life, Bobbie Duck Nichols; daughter, Janice Skinner; grandsons, Eric Brooks and Hunter Bryan; sisters, Othe Nugent, Lola Nichols, Viola Husbands and Lannie Whatley.
He is survived by two daughters, Judy Adams and husband, Leland, of Wildsville; Joy Bryan and husband, Joe, of Thibodeaux, La.; and one son, Jeffery Nichols and wife, Charlene, of Livingston, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Leland Adams Jr., Clint Nichols, Jake Nichols, Tyler Bryan, Kyle Holoman and nephew, David Jernigan. Honorary pallbearers will be grandson, Josh Skinner and close friend, Joseph “Sonny” Davis.
