NATCHEZ — Services for Jack Johnson, 87, of Natchez, who died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia following a lengthy illness, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Murray Temple Church of God in Christ with Elder George Marshall and Elder Elijah Lewis officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Mr. Johnson was a retired electrician and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Johnson was a member of the Church of God In Christ. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt with his dogs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Louvenia Johnson; two sons, Parnon L. Johnson and Deman R. Johnson; three brothers, Elloit Johnson, James B. Johnson and Ezell Johnson; and seven sisters, Janie Johnson, Marie Johnson, Katie Johnson, Liza Johnson, Erma Johnson, Leola Johnson and Marie Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Jessie L. Johnson; two sons, Paul K. Johnson and Glen N. Johnson, both of Natchez; three daughters, Veronica E. Carter of Zachary, La., Jacqueline E. Johnson of Natchez and Gail E. McIntyre of Hawthorne, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
