SUMMIT — A trip to Southwest Mississippi Community College turned into a playoff berth for the Copiah-Lincoln Community College football team Thursday night.
After trailing 7-0 after one quarter and 10-7 early in the third quarter, Co-Lin scored 16-straight points to get the win.
The Wolfpack took the lead on a 49-yard touchdown pass from Chandler Rogers to Marquis Hayes in the third quarter, and then kicker Nolan Long stole the show in the fourth quarter. Long scored on a 20-yard fake field goal run, and then kicked a 37-yard field goal — after missing the extra point that followed his touchdown — to wrap up the scoring.
Co-Lin is 7-2, and its postseason seed and opponent have not been determined.
