WOODVILLE — Taylor Prevost threw a pair of 15-yard touchdown passes to Jaylen Washington as the Wilkinson County Christian Academy Rams defeated the CENLA Christian Academy Lions 37-18 Friday night to win the MAIS District 3-A championship for the second straight season.
“That was our goal to start the season. The seniors had a good mindset heading into the season,” WCCA head coach David Wright said. “We came out prepared, really focused on CENLA’s running and passing attack. Senior leadership is where it started tonight.”
WCCA led CENLA Christian 6-0 at the end of the first quarter before exploding for 31 points in the second quarter to take command of the game.
WCCA (9-1, 7-0) will host an MAIS Class A South State Playoffs first-round game at 7 p.m. next Friday.
