Prep football: Playoff games are set

NATCHEZ — Trinity Episcopal will host its opening round playoff game against a familiar opponent Friday.

The Saints drew Silliman Institute in the first round of the MAIS-AA playoffs, a team they beat 27-14 earlier in the season.

If Trinity manages to advance to the South State title game, it may run up against another familiar opponent in undefeated Centreville Academy. Centreville will host Lamar School to open its playoff season.

MHSAA 3A playoffs

The Wilkinson County High School football team fought through the regular season and came out with a No. 2 seed in the playoffs. The Wildcats will host Morton High School Friday.

Jefferson County and Franklin County will both travel Friday with the Tigers going to Forest High School, and the Bulldogs going to McLaurin High School.

MAIS-A Playoffs

Wilkinson County Christian School’s undefeated district record earned them a No. 1 seed in the playoffs. The Rams will host Prentiss Christian Friday.
