Jeff Thomas Parnell

MONROE, La. — Graveside services for Jeff Thomas Parnell, 89, formerly of Vidalia, who died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, in Shreveport, La., will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, La., with the Rev. Mark Henderson of Natchez officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home in Bossier City, La.
Mr. Parnell was a U.S. Army veteran and served during World War II. He was a lifetime member of the DAV Post 16 and the American Legion Post 4. He retired from the Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company after 28 years of service as a sheet metal worker. He was a member of the United Rubber Workers Local 303.
Mr. Parnell was preceded in death by the love of his life, Lula Bernice West Parnell in 1995.
Survivors include two children, Jerry Parnell and wife, Barbara, of Longview, Texas and Carol Sue Parnell of Port Allen, La.; four grandchildren, Tommy Parnell of Dallas, Butch Parnell and wife, Katy, Bradley Parnell and wife, Elizabeth, all of Shreveport, and William Burris of Port Allen; four great-grandchildren, Mallory, Jon-Michael, Madelyn and Emily, all of Shreveport; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Parnell will be remembered as a very caring and loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
