NATCHEZ — Services for Ira Jackson Jr., 84, of Natchez, who died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Egypt Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Ford Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Jackson was born Dec. 19, 1927, in Monroe, La., the son of Ira Jackson Sr. and Viola Jackson. He attended the Monroe school system. He was a member of Egypt Baptist Church where he served as a deacon of the church. He was a Mason with the John G. Jones Lodge No. 3 of Natchez.
Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Annie Laura; one son, Billy; and two brothers, Kenneth and Wilbert.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie Lyles Jackson; stepmother, Isabelle Jackson; four daughters, Dorothy Dotson and husband, Michael of Natchez, Diane Parker and husband, Clarence Sr., of Ackworth, Ga., Elaine West and husband, Theodore, of LaPuente, Calif., and Ira Louise Baker of Natchez; two sons, Willie L. Reynolds and wife, Evelyn, of Fort Worth, Texas and Donnell Jackson and wife, Patricia, of Kansas City, Mo.; one stepdaughters, A’Drain Bocage and husband, Grayling Sr., of New Orleans; two brothers, Elder Andrew Jackson and wife, Lucy, of Monroe and Jessie Jackson of Texas; one sister, Dorothy Wiley of Monroe; 22 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Masonic brothers.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and Eric Dunham.
