VIDALIA — Four of the new fields at the Vidalia Recreation Complex were spoken for Tuesday after recreation director Johnny Hoffpauir spoke with the Concordia Parish Chamber of Commerce about selling sponsorships for the facilities.
Five more fields have yet to be named, and Hoffpauir said any business or individual interested in sponsoring a field should contact him.
“We’d be glad to give them a tour of the complex and discuss the different features,” he said.
The money from sponsors will go to upkeep and maintenance of the facilities, and Hoffpauir told the chamber of commerce members that their money would play a key role in recreation in the parish.
“I explained how important sports and athletics have been in my life and my kids’ lives,” he said. It’s important to me and so many people like me in a town our size to have this type of thing. It’s nothing but a positive thing for the town.”
Interested sponsors can purchase one of two packages. Package B consists of four fields which can be individually sponsored by paying $7,500 for three years or $7,000 for five years. Package C consists of two fields for $5,500 for three years or $5,000 for five years.
Package A consists of three fields, but those have already been sponsored.

Hoffpauir said he hopes the new fields will bring a variety of different athletic events to the Miss-Lou.
