Adams County Justice Court Cases

Editor’s note: A listing for Anthony White published on Oct. 22 incorrectly listed the charges against him. White was charged with, among other things, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. The case was remanded to the files. We regret the error and are happy to set the record straight.

Week of Nov. 9-15:

Cartrell Harris charged with grand larceny. Harris was also charged with failure to register as a sex offender and with fraudulent use of a credit card. All cases have been bound over to a grand jury.

Guy Anthony Allen pleaded guilty to simple possession of marijuana.

Dustin Owens pleaded guilty to trespassing.

Nicholas Hawkins charged with sale of a controlled substance. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Emily Holland pleaded guilty to trespass less than larceny.

Lavonne M. Belton, 45, pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $344.

Friday, Nov. 2:

Erica Prater, 28, charged with disturbing the peace by fighting. Upon request of officer and prosecutor, this case is remanded to files for cause plus condition.

Ray Gibson, 37, charged with DUS — revoked or suspended. In consideration of other pleas this case is remanded to files at request of officer. Gibson pleaded guilty to failure to maintain insurance proof in vehicle. Fine set at $264. Gibson also pleaded guilty to DUI — 1st offense test refusal. Sentenced to 48 hours suspended. Fine set at $730.

Veronica Campbell, 20, pleaded guilty to embezzlement less than $500/misdemeanor Sentenced to 30 days with 24 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve six days in jail. Fine set at $444. Restitution set at $213.99.

Shaunta Shanell Randall, 34, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct – failure to comply with officer. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $444.

Marvin King, 50, pleaded guilty to public drunkenness. Sentenced to 10 days with three days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Credit given for seven days served. No fine set.

Anthony S. Willard, 29, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct – failure to comply with officer. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $444.

Chadwick Williams, 33, pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace by fighting. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $344.

Tuesday, Nov. 6:

Darren Farrell, 20, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor simple assault. Sentenced to 180 days with 96 days suspended and 84 days served. Fine set at $450.

Malcolm Joseph, 60, charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. Case bound over to a grand jury after preliminary hearing held.
Malcolm Joseph, 60, charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Case dismissed on defense attorney’s motion.

Christopher M. Combs, 30, charged with possession or carrying a concealed weapon — felony. Waived preliminary hearing. Out on bond.

Channing E. Lee, 22, charged with receiving stolen property — felony. Weapon has been recovered from pawn shop and returned to owner. Therefore, for lack of proof of knowledge of stolen property, this case is dismissed on motion of prosecutor.

Shenice Wright, 24, charged with two counts of credit card or numbers use with intent to defraud. Case dismissed. Refund $1,500 cash bond.

Michelle Denise Williams, 23, charged with shoplifting — 1st offense. This charge is being withdrawn for filing of felony charge.

Rita Johnson, 35, charged with embezzlement under contract. Case bound over to a grand jury after preliminary hearing held. Out on $5,000 bond.

Archie Kentrell Doss, 20, pleaded guilty to amended charge of receiving stolen property – misdemeanor. Sentenced to 180 days with 92 days suspended for two years pending good behavior. Served 88 days. Fine of $450 suspended. Bond set at $7,500.

Michelle D. Williams, 23, charged with shoplifting – over $500/felony. Case dismissed after preliminary hearing – court found lack of proof that defendant participated in alleged crime.

Dale Robert Williams, 52, found guilty of petit larceny. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for two years pending good behavior. Fine set at $444.

Alan Tremaine Thomas, 31, pleaded guilty to carrying a concealed weapon. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $444.
