Man seriously injured in vehicle crash

CENTREVILLE — A Gloster man is in the hospital with severe injuries after an afternoon crash in Wilkinson County.
Fulton L. Collins, 57, 3644 Nona Lane, was driving west on Mississippi 24 four miles west of Centreville when he veered into the eastbound lane, overcorrected and ran off the roadway, striking a tree, a Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman said.
Collins was trapped in the vehicle, and the Jaws of Life were used to remove him.
He was air lifted to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge.
He was wearing a seat belt; and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
The accident occurred at 12:26 p.m. Collins was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe.
