JONESVILLE — A local woman died early Friday morning in a vehicle accident on Louisiana 3102 in Catahoula Parish.

Sheri C. Laprairie, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene.

She was driving a 2010 Ford pickup just before 5 a.m. when she reportedly lost control of the vehicle and ran off the road. The vehicle then collided with a metal trash container and then a tree, a Louisiana State Police spokesman said.

Laprairie was not wearing a seat belt.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
