VIDALIA — Services for Roosevelt Bowman, 75, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Raymond Riley officiating.
Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Bowman was born July 30, 1937, in Frogmore, the son of John and Illinois Trask Bowman. He was a forklift operator for Lone Star Steel and had served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Trust Bowman; one daughter, Shelia Trust; two sons, Roosevelt Bowman Trust and wife, Shemeka, all of Vidalia, and Johnny A. Trust and wife, Paula, of Pensacola, Fla.; one stepson, Stevie D. Trust and wife, Rosalyn; two brothers, Leonard Bowman and wife, Alma, and Donald Bowman, all of Vidalia; two sisters, Hattie March and husband, Charles, of Chicago and Sarah Hamilton of Los Angeles; six grandchildren, Brian, Johnny Jr., Ryan, Sherniqua, Stevie Jr. and a special grandson, Robert Gardner; and his mother-in-law, Mary Eliza Scott of Vidalia.
