VIDALIA — Services for Pauline Purvis Reid, 85, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Natchez Community Hospital, were 1 p.m. Tuesday at Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia with the Bro. Denny Braswell officiating.
Burial followed at Legion Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Mrs. Reid was born March 10, 1927, in Newellton, La., the daughter of James and Viola Purvis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon B. Reid; her parents; four brothers, Walter Purvis, Earl Purvis, Jack Purvis and Sammy Purvis; and two sisters, Ruby Thompson and Nellie Ratcliff.
Survivors include one daughter, Susan Reid Vigil and husband, Tom, of Ferriday; two sons, Ansell L. Reid and wife, Cheryl, of Conroe, Texas and Derrell G. Reid of wife, Mel, of Vidalia; two granddaughters, Jennifer C. Reid of Houston, Texas and Kate Reid and husband, Jared MacLean, of Tulsa, Okla.; two step-granddaughters, Misty Vigil and Kendra Wells and husband, Stephen, all of Vidalia; two step-great-grandchildren, Sully Knight and Ausbin Wells; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Johnny Hall, Stephen Wells, Joe Mac O’Neal, Bubba White, Joe Blakely and Kenny Roberts.
Honorary pallbearers were John Meche and Gerald Frazier.
