Complex is crowning achievement

The dirt has been leveled, the concrete poured, and the fence posts are set.
All that’s left is for the games to begin at the new Concordia Recreation District No. 3 recreation complex in Vidalia.
The facility has been — literally — decades in the making.
Our hats off both to the recreation district’s wisdom that allowed the group to scrimp and save the startup money necessary to build the facility and to the citizens that have continued to support the dream of having a new state-of-the-art facility.
That dream is now a reality.
Going forward the children and grandchildren of the men and women who make the facility happen will be able to enjoy the fruits of their labor.
The new facility is impressive to be sure. Nine ball fields, 12 tennis courts and three basketball courts means much fun can be had in a centralized, modern location.
But more impressive than the facility is the community that put it together.
We applaud the investment in quality of life and the investment in the fun and recreation of generations of Concordia residents for decades to come.
Congratulations and we look forward to the first pitch, kick, basket and cheer.
