STAMPLEY — Services for Marron Stampley Sr., 81, of Natchez, who went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Mariah Missionary Baptist Church in Stampley with the Rev. Stanford Cruel officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Stampley under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Stampley was born Feb. 5, 1931, in Jefferson County, the son of Henry and Marie Stampley. He was employed by International Paper Company for 51 years until he retired in 1996. He was also a part-time deputy for the Adams County Sheriff’s Office in the late 1960s.
Mr. Stampley was preceded in death by his parents; 10 sisters, Lena Davis, Dorothy Ellis, Oranelle Stampley, Jeanette Stampley, Ethel Brown, Rebecca Stampley, Rosa Brown, Henrietta Morgan, Inez Stampley and Marie Stampley; six brothers, Roosevelt Stampley, Marshall Stampley, Tommy Stampley, Prentiss Stampley, Brian Stampley and Cleveland Stampley.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Frances Stampley; three daughters, Frances Stampley, Kay Washington and husband, Isaiah, all of Natchez, and Renee Howell and husband, Michael, of Orlando, Fla.; one son, Marion Stampley Jr. and wife, Temple, of Dallas; one brother, Everette Stampley of Natchez; one sister-in-law, Corrine Garrison of Baton Rouge; seven grandchildren, Nikki Stampley, Philip Smith, Shaney Howell, Emily Howell, Marion “Alex” Stampley III, Madison Stampley and Morgan Stampley; and two great-grandchildren, Kaylyn Stampley and Taylar Stampley.
The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the ICU staff at Natchez Regional Medical Center, Dr. Leslie England and Dr. Barry Tillman.
